Currently, the proposed site for the aquatic center is just west of the Roosevelt City Pool. The old park provides easy access for all.
The new center will have two major components--an indoor area housing a 25-yard, six-lane lap pool with diving boards and an additional warm-water therapy pool will also be housed indoors. A party room will be available for rental as part of the indoor and outdoor portions of the facility.
The outdoor seasonal pool (Memorial Day - Labor Day) will have a zero-entry design with a large play feature for younger children. This pool will also include water slides and a current channel. A large deck area will also be included with shaded seating areas.
All pools will be handicapped accessible. The lap pool will have a chair lift and the therapy and outdoor pools will include ramps.
Besides the nicely designed locker rooms, three family dressing areas are also included in the plan. Eventually, the old Roosevelt City Pool will be filled in and serve as a large parking area for the new facility.
